One month from today

One month from today T and I will be leaving on a road trip. We are driving out to Oregon to give my MIL T's old car. We will take a week to drive out there and are hoping to stop by some fun roadside attractions. We are also planning on going to Yellowstone for a day. Recommendations of places to visit are welcome!

Today work completely sucked. I'll leave it at that. I almost broke down in tears, but I didn't. It was bad. I'm so glad today is over. I just ate ice cream and later I will have a beer. I hate crap days at work.

I just can't wait to go away. I'm a little nervous about so much driving time, but I've always wanted to drive across the country and now is the right time to do it. My MIL needs a new car, and the car is a hybrid so it will save her gas money. We will have a long-needed vacation and we will see things we've never seen. I will go to some states I have never been to before. We will not have to go to work. I'm excited about it -- a little nervous too, but really excited. I can't wait to just go away and leave everything behind.

I love road trips! We go on a car camping trip every summer and we always use the Roadside America website to plan our trips. It has led us to places like the Corn Palace (South Dakota), the Spam Museum (Minnesota), the world's tiniest chapel (Oklahoma), a weird alligator farm in Arkansas, and a few neat alien/UFO places. The website allows you to plan your whole itinerary based on your route.

road trips are fun, esp. in summer. I'm further south but if you head anywhere near cal. I can give you lots of recommendations. lots of great spots in oregon, depending where you're headed and how long you have.

sorry you had such a crappy day. countdown to vacation!

I'm sorry work is so crappy.

The road trip sounds like a great escape. I'll think on the stops along the way suggestions. Will you be going all the way to the Oregon Coast?

Well, if you're going to Yellowstone I assume you'll be going through SD so you might want to stop at Wall Drug - just to say you did. (Hope that link turned out right. If not, sorry) AND to pick up - or at least check out a jackalope. Goofy little f*ckers, they are! ;)
I haven't been to the Corn Palace but wanted to stop by the Reptile Gardens (didn't get to it).

The Badlands are pretty neat too. There's a scenic loop off the freeway that you might want to check out (it's not too long).

Just the drive through the mountains will be fantastic. Not sure if your route will take you there but the Coeur d'Alene area between MT and WA is really pretty...

Good luck on your trip - have fun!

I've always wanted to drive across the USA. So many cool places to go, to see and great places to eat. You should look on the F.oodnetwork and check out Guy's favorite dives. I'm sorry you had such a crap day at work--if I lived closer we'd be going out for some cheer.

That sounds like a fun trip! I've never done anything like that, but everyone who has always seems to have great stories!

We drove across the country in my little VW Golf the summer after graduation. It was one of the best trips of my life. Here's hoping yours is the same.

I hope this road trip will be just the break you need!

Crap work, crap cycles - it will be good to get away from it all.
