As if things weren't bad enough

Today is T's birthday. He's not very happy about it. In fact, he's feeling quite sad. And we woke up this morning to his mother cleaning up our kitchen. She put dishes in the dishwasher and turned it on. While I wish she would just let me take care of things, this is not that bad. She washed my dish drying rack (and ended up breaking it) and then she was cleaning my counters with the poisonous cleaner that the old owners left behind. Then she started scraping an old sponge holder that I've been planning on throwing away with one of my good food knives.

It makes me feel like complete shit when she cleans my kitchen. It makes me feel like she thinks I can't take care of her son. It makes me feel like I am a bad house keeper. Okay, I am kind of a shitty house keeper and I know it, but I don't want her cleaning my house. I can't stand it. I work, I have blood tests, I have been trying to make a baby for 2 years and I am most likely staring my fourth miscarriage in the face. I wish she would just leave my house the fuck alone.

That would piss me off too! Tell her to back off, its your house and if she doesn't like it they way it is when she comes over then she should not come over! Was that too harsh? LOL Anyway, chin up, Im keeping you in my thoughts.

Ugh, that's some unfortunate birthday timing.

My MIL makes me feel the same way. I like to think that I have better things to do than keep up a perfect house, whereas she doesn't. It's bitchy of me to think that way, but whatever.

I hope there's at least a good meal coming in honor of T's bday. Yummy food always makes things a little better.

I hope your hubby's day improved.
....I hope MIL was aiming to "help" rather than show her disapproval. I think it's just something Mum's do. Mine picks up a dishcloth the minute she enters my door. I have just accepted it & begun to appreciate it!

Ugh - I hate this! It's like seriously - just come and visit and enjoy yourself. DO NOT CLEAN MY HOUSE.

T should gently tell his mom not to clean when she's over there. He doens't have to say exactly why, but it's his mom and he should be able to make up something valid.

The dishes are one thing, but the super deep cleaning? That's just insulting.

Ugg, not a good way to be woken up. You could ship your MIL over to London, I'd keep her very, very busy. I love a clean house but hate cleaning. I could deal with your MIL but if my own MIL did the same thing I'm not sure I could stop myself from saying something.

When my MIL does dishes in my kitchen, it makes me cringe. She splashes around like a baby whale and leaves soap bubbles on everything. I have a dishwasher. She doesn't need to do them, but she says it is her way of helping. I think I should be taking valium when she is in there because it makes me crazy.

I hope T had an ok birthday in the end.

How unbelievably annoying. When my MIL "helps" she does a crappy job.
