baseline

So, my clinic does not do baselines. No wanding, no blood levels, nothing. This is starting to make me nervous. Why do they not do baselines? Any ideas?

No clue why they wouldn't do them. I think that the purpose of a baseline is to make sure that you don't have any cysts or anything going on that could interfere with the cycle. I am sorry that I am not much help here.

i've never heard of that. i believe the main things they check at the baseline are for a nice thin lining, no evil cysts, and initial hormone levels. my clinic bases my stim doses in part on my baselines. if you can't come in day 2-5 for a baseline, they make you skip the whole cycle.

i don't want to sound negative, they probably have their reasons, but the main reason this would make me nervous is that they're planning a more aggressive protocol for you this time. are they still doing bw on cd3? that would make me feel a lot more comfortable. also if they were planning to monitor you pretty frequently once you start stims.

Best of luck to you....

Robin,

PGD is preimplantation genetic diagnosis. They biopsy a 3 day embryo and do a test on the chromosomes to see if it is a healthy embryo.

I don't think I did baseline blood work on my actual IVF cycle. They did the baseline stuff the month before. They did check me for cysts, but maybe your clinic isn't worried, because you've been on the pill for the last month? I wouldn't worry about it too much. Every clinic is a little different.

Good luck!

Wow that seems strange. I would call the doctor and ask why.
